Our 74 ensuite bedrooms, some suitable for double occupancy, are meticulously furnished to offer residents comfort and tranquillity. Personalisation is encouraged to create a homely atmosphere.

Communal accommodation in the home comprises of airy lounges for watching TV, listening to the radio or simply spending time chatting with friends.

Meet Carmen Miclea, the devoted Home Manager at The Grange Care Home in Darlington, responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of the care home. Carmen’s assertiveness, effective communication, and unwavering support make her a compassionate leader committed to exceeding expectations.

Professional Responsibilities:

As the Home Manager, Carmen oversees various aspects, including recruiting and managing staff teams, handling budgets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that surpass expectations and standards. Her role involves maintaining a caring and supportive environment, putting residents’ well-being at the heart of everything she does.

Professional Journey:

Carmen’s journey in the UK began in 2007 after completing her nursing diploma in Romania. Driven by a passion for care, she continuously sought to learn and help people. Over the past 14 years, Carmen has acquired numerous qualifications in Health and Social Care for adults and childcare. Her involvement as a governor in mental health, safeguarding, curriculum, and parent school, as well as her role in the non-profit group “Bravehearts,” highlights her commitment to community impact.

Recognitions and Achievements:

Carmen’s dedication to care has earned her the Recognition of Care and Kindness (ROCK) award in 2016. She was also a finalist for the Care Home Leader of the Year award in 2020 and received the Deputy Home Manager of the Year award in 2021, recognising her leadership during challenging times.

Personal Interests:

Beyond her professional achievements, Carmen enjoys running, reading, travelling, and spending quality time with her son. Her personal goal is to be a role model and provide aspirations for her son while maintaining a deep passion for care.
